Easy Racers Electric Recumbents
Here are some photos of our new 960 watt mid drive for Easy racers recumbents. This system should be available as a kit for this frame design soon. Price TBA
I'm a ER customer since 1989. I have put countless miles on my original Sharper Image Tour Easy, and quite a few on a second one I found on eBay a few years ago. But I've since converted my original TE to an ebike, with a 600w, 48v front hub motor drive. Why? My work commute was just too far (25 hilly miles round trip) to comfortably do every morning. I am a professional musician and usually have my horn with me, which adds extra weight.
I am astounded at how well my LWB TE works as an ebike. The extra weight up front (motor and battery) actually improve the stability and handling, if that's possible! Hub motors do work fine if you set them up correctly, but this mid-drive is probably an even better way to go if you are starting from scratch. It looks like there is room for the battery up front....mine is right next to the pedals on the bottom bars.
It's great that you are going to offer an electric option. Can't wait for details!
Since 1979 Easy Racers has been turning steel, aluminum, titanium and, most recently, carbon fiber into hand built racing, touring, commuting, and leisure machines of unparalleled quality.
Wow, it looks awesome. Any more details?
